Happy Valley Adventure Bureau (HVAB) tourism grants, funded through the Centre County Room Tax, support events and projects that significantly enhance tourism and overnight stays in Centre County. Grant guidelines comply with Pennsylvania's Act 18 of 2016, which outlines permissible uses and administrative requirements for tourism-related grants. Act 18 mandates hotel tax revenues must specifically support tourism promotion, marketing, and events that substantially enhance visitor experiences and overnight stays. Grants require a minimum 25% match and impose clear restrictions to ensure funds are used appropriately and transparently.
The HVAB and the Centre County Board of Commissioners are committed to providing financial assistance to as many worthwhile, eligible projects as possible. Funding is intended to support projects and advertising designed to attract more visitors to Happy Valley and enhance the overall tourism experience. Priority consideration will be given to proposals that generate significant visitation from outside of the region and overnight rooms booked. The 2026-27 application will open on February 2, 2026. The application period closes at 5:00PM ET on March 27, 2026.
